BALTIMORE — The Rays have acquired infielder Ryan Roberts from the D-backs in exchange for Double-A infielder Tyler Bortnick, the team announced Tuesday.

Roberts, who was designated for assignment by Arizona earlier in the day, is expected to join the Rays in Baltimore on Wednesday.
